Wellbeing

At our school, student wellbeing and learning go hand in hand. We want every student to feel safe, included and ready to learn. Whether your child needs help with their mental, emotional, social or physical wellbeing, we are here to help them thrive at school and in daily life.

Explicit Teaching

Our school uses explicit teaching. This means we clearly tell students what they are learning, why it is important and how to do it step by step. Explicit teaching helps students understand new ideas by breaking them into smaller parts.

Learning at our school is student-centred, inclusive and practical. We are committed to equity and access. We support all learning styles and needs. Our teachers use proven teaching strategies. They take part in ongoing professional development to stay up to date with best teaching practice.

Our learning approach includes:

The Beresfield Way

The school takes pride in the Beresfield Way - its Civics and Citizenship program that fosters moral and ethical values of respect, responsibility and resilience. Enrichment and extracurricular activities in the areas of creative arts, environmental education, sport, leadership and academics are provided for students throughout the year.

Our aim is for every student, every teacher and every leader, to continue to improve every year. This will be achieved through the implementation of strategic plans in the teaching of literacy and numeracy and targeted professional development for teachers.
